There is a huge difference between those who believe in a Maker of heaven and earth, who seek to live in ways that please God, and who take refuge in him, believing that they will be rewarded with eternal life by so doing, versus those who do not. — This difference should be evident in every true Believer.
We see the life we now live to be temporary. It is a brief time that our Maker gives us to live in this mortal flesh. It is given to us for one primary purpose: To choose between Life or Death. Those who only seek after the things of this world and oppress and deal falsely with others will not inherit eternal life. They have ignored the fact that all humans are made in God’s image and possess eternal souls. Therefore, they will not enter the Paradise that God has prepared for those who love Him. – And we know that we are living as our Creator desires when our lives manifest such attributes as these: “The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Bible)
We believe that all humanity is composed of a mortal body and an eternal soul. When our time in the mortal body ceases and we ‘die,’ the soul lives on. – Those who hate, practice lying, who steal, hurt others, and fail to love and care for others will not reside with God after their demise. – We are told that God lives in light, and to be in his presence is to experience “the fullness of joy!” – This is the eternity for godly people. – The opposite of all this is the destiny for those who chose otherwise.
This is what Moses told the people: “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life.”
