The Lord Almighty looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.
Woe to those who drag sin and wickedness along with ropes of deceit.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.
who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
Woe to those who acquit the guilty for a bribe but deny justice to the innocent.
Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.
And your sins have hidden his face from you.
Turn from your evil deeds and seek the Lord and he will restore you and heal your heart and mind.
then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
The Lord will guide you always; You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
