Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Psalm 23:1-6: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all… All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b][c] will be subject to judgment…Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

You are the light of the world… In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Thou shall break them with a rod of iron; thou shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Why do the nations so furiously rage together: and why do the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth rise up, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and against his Anointed.

He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh them to scorn: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their yokes from us.
