Forgiving others can be difficult. Even the Apostles, when commanded to do so, replied, “Then, Lord, give us more faith.” Luke 17:5-7
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15
Forgiveness is a choice to be compassionate rather than resentful. So let’s be transformed by the Holy Spirit and live according to God’s will.
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:27-28
“Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, nor let your heart be glad when he stumbles.” Proverbs 24:17
For “Love is kind… and it keeps no record of wrongs we suffer.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Never repay evil for evil but bless those who persecute us; bless and do not curse . . . Do not repay anyone evil for evil. But live at peace with everyone that you may obtain a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9
We are not to judge others, and we will not be judged; nor condemn, and we will not be condemned; but we are always to forgive, and we will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37
Bless those who persecute you; Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right. Live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:14-19
